Painting Description

This famous Quebec landmark carries a personal importance for me. For an entire week in 1996, I joined a group of artists painting plein air from an historic building owned by Historic Quebec. Meals and drinks were provided, as was good company. Every evening we would gather to critique everyone’s work from that day’s painting. This probably is as close as I will get to that romantic ideal exemplified by the French Impressionists.
