Piece of the Past

Painting Description

This old railroad abutment stands ankle deep in the Grand River just downstream from Bridgeport. It can easily be seen from the Economical Insurance entrance to the Walter Bean Trail.

All along the Walter Bean Trail there are clues to the history of this region. I am pleased to have joined forces with Janet Kimantas to produce videos of some of the spots along this trail. Through this project I have been introduced to so many interesting and attractive bits of landscape that I would never have seen.

The four pieces donated to GRCA-Walter Bean Trail Association are: Near the Grey Silo Golf Course, Image # PS204, Piece of the Past, Image # PS203, Rushing to the Grand River, Image # PS312, and Bridgeport Winter, Image # PS313.
