Painting Description

This painting was inspired by a stretch of river near Glen Allan, Ontario. As I worked with the painting, the view changed as I added and subtracted elements of the scene. I spotted the folks fishing at Hawkesville, but I placed them in the less-trafficked setting to add, I hope, to the tranquility and joy of the occasion. I do not paint just what I see. My attempt is to arrange things to develop a pleasing picture.
