Painting Description

This painting is one of a series of pub subjects that I painted in 1998 during our extended stay in Kent, the garden of England. As a well-known beer drinker, I enjoy visiting pubs, many of which specialize in hand-crafted beers from small local breweries. Almost all these meeting places, and these country pubs, have long interesting histories that certainly give them a sense of place.
