Painting Description

Mixed media, ink and acrylic, were used in this unevenly edged painting of Shilton. Located near Burford and not far from Oxford, this once agricultural village has now become quite a popular recreational home village. Although the village presents a soft and weathered face that suggests calm and tranquility, the air is pierced with the screams of military jets that land at Brize Norton, only five miles away. This is one of those cases that is better seen in a painting, than visited.
