Painting Description

This painting shows my search for a style of painting that was my own. For several years I used a design approach that employed, as you can see, large chunks of paint applied with a palette knife. This technique worked well, but as I started to develop more complicated images, often with many animals and people, this treatment no longer seemed adequate.
