Packwood House, Warwickshire
Painting Description
We visited Packwood House from an old farmhouse that we had rented in Chipping Camden. This area of the Cotswolds near Stratford is loaded with “great houses”, but few are of the scale of this treasure house. I chose to paint the gardens because I was struck, as I often am, by the scale of the gardens. How many men over how many years were needed to create such a quilt of colour?
