Painting Description

This barn has an overhang and so strictly speaking is not overshot. However, the farmer calls it that, so I guess that’s good enough. This is quite an old painting, going back to the late 1960’s. At that point I was experimenting with the idea of an image floating on a coloured background. This is a technique that gives quite a romantic effect.
