Painting Description

This attractive sugar shanty is in a bush west of Elmira. I was amused when I was asked by one of the Mennonite men working in this bush whether it was true that even some people from Europe bought my paintings. When assured that was the case, he just shook his head. To think that someone from a romantic place so far away would have interest in Mennonite life confounded him.
