Painting Description

The Place des Vosges is so elegant but somehow it avoids being stilted and formal as one would expect from a Royal Square. Beneath the colonnades, restaurants spill out into the shade. In the middle of the Place kids run around the fountain. This is a place that typifies the fun of Paris while at the same time speaks of its aristocratic history. For me this is one of the wonderful places to be in Paris.
