Painting Description

After several visits to Paris, I am left longing for more return holidays. This piece of Paris, just off the Champs- Elysées, was part of our time there in 1978. After visiting Paris and staying at a romantic right-bank hotel, we motored down the Loire Valley, painting as we went. In those days I was doing most of my drawings in ink adding aqueous washes later. Over the years my approach to sketching and painting has changed. How different my paintings from 2001 in Paris are from these earlier works.
