Painting Description

This painting flows directly from my childhood. The house in the background is based on the frame building that was home to Mrs. Sheppard. Being childless, she and her composer husband became surrogate grandparents to the three Snyder boys. The activity part of this painting was inspired by the Central School hill that hosted all the neighbourhood kids and many sleighs both new and old.
