New Church
Painting Description
Although some children do leave the more conservative groups, the population of these groups continues to grow. There are however changes to the locations of these groups as some move to Hanover or other points north, while some buy farms on the western side of the traditional Mennonite areas, often taking over the land occupied by the Old Order Amish who as a group are not as affluent. This new church is just west of Crosshill on the edge of Perth County. Built in the traditional style, this meeting house will be the home church for people who live within five miles of it. Remember that travel by horse and carriage reduces the distance of convenience.
