Nest

Painting Description

England is studded with eccentric private gardens, unseen by the public. Occasionally such a garden is opened to us the great unwashed. This garden in Kent is owned by a strange lady, a sculptor, who has placed many of her large scale works throughout her ten acres of garden. This piece is composed of finger-sized sticks, and the viewer is invited to climb up the ladder and sit in the nest. I must admit this wooden creation is personal, unusual and puzzling.
