Painting Description

This loosely painted watercolour-style design was inspired by an arrangement that we had in England in 1988. We had rented a flat in the upstairs of a converted barn called the Lock and Bottle Barn. The gardens surrounding this rural structure were bursting with colour, and our landlady made sure that we had a tasty sample for our coffee table. Over the years we have rented many houses and flats in England and often they do come with exuberant floral displays just outside the door.
