Mill Gate

Painting Description

Grein’s Mill on Highway #6 was once a bustling productive operation that ground grain into flour. No longer functioning in that way, this facility still provides beautiful and relaxed views to the person interested enough to turn off the busy highway to enter this peaceful enchanted land. As I painted this, I had to think of the painting by Homer Watson of The Flood Gate which is of course quite the opposite in feeling to this quiet, calm view.
