Man with a Scythe

Painting Description

My intent in this painting was to show not only someone using a scythe but also the sharpening process that maintains an edge on this dramatic instrument. Any man working in a field with a scythe carried a file in his pocket and used it regularly.

The log building in the background is from Doon Heritage Village at the Waterloo Region Museum.
