Machine Shop Junk
Painting Description
A snow-covered scrap heap outside a Mennonite-run village machine shop adds a decorative element for this painter.
The model for this painting is the late Noah S. Martin’s machine shop in Hawkesville. In all fairness, I have played up the messiness of the snow-covered scrap metal. There is a quietness in this setting that feels right to me. Obviously this is not a work day.
