Low Tide, Port Isaac, Cornwall
Painting Description
On a gray Sunday morning we happened upon this small Cornish fishing village. By chance we arrived on the day that the local Salvation Army Band was playing an outdoor concert on the quay to raise money for the Life Boat Society. Given my early religious training, I found it quite emotional to hear Will Your Anchor Hold in the Storms of Life played next to the sea. That song took on new intensity that morning. Note: We were amused to see the vehicles parked in the basin at low tide.
