Long Autumn Road

Painting Description

Driving west on Boomer Line from Kressler Road presents a wonderful panoramic view as you top the hill by the gravel pit not far from Hawkesville.

Boomer Road leads into the heart of Mennonite country. This is the gateway to farms still worked by horses. Smithside Parochial School fronts on this road just southwest of Hawkesville. The view is dramatic and could be used as a setting for a road traffic painting. After 50 years of travelling on this road and surveying the great landscape, I still have not quite come up with just what I will do with this particular landscape.
