Painting Description

My stylistic approach in this early painting of rolling logs was one of several that I painted after watching the sleigh loading in Amon Martin’s bush. Logs are loaded onto the sleigh through the use of chains wound around the logs. As the team pulls away from the sleigh, the chain unfurls, pulling the log, on runners, onto the sleigh bed.
