Lime Walk at Sissinghurst
Painting Description
Harold Nicholson, Vita Sackville-West’s husband, controlled this area of Sissinghurst. This area is really only a springtime sensation. By the time summer comes, this part of the garden takes very much a back seat to the full colour of the rest of the garden. This painting shows a gray day in April. We had unfortunately way too many gray days that spring of 1998.
