This popular spot overlooking the river and small floodgate is a magnet for people to have a relaxing drink “in the garden” at the end of the afternoon. During our extended stay in Kent, England, we visited this pretty spot several times. The Speckled Trout has stood on this spot in some form for over three hundred years, but in this present incarnation has turned into a gastro-pub which is really more of a restaurant bistro serving hardy fare. If you wish a spot in the restaurant, it is imperative that you arrive early as no reservations are taken.
