Lake District, England

Painting Description

I painted these sculptural forms of the Lake District in 1983 on our second visit to that area. Much of that landscape is preserved as parkland but unfortunately the Royal Air Force has seen necessary to disturb this tranquility by using these rugged areas as paths for low level flight training. Isn”t it too bad that here in Beatrix Potter Country, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle must cover her ears?
