Karlstein
Painting Description
Situated near Prague, Czech Republic, this Gothic fairy book castle was once the home of King Karl IV who was also the Roman Emperor.
We hired a car and driver from our hotel in Prague to take us into the country to see this massive fortress. The government has spent a great deal of money on repairing the castle and getting it ready for the tourists. We had a young guide, a music student, that sang three songs for us during our tour, including Good King Wenceslas in English. We were the only real English speakers while the others spoke the world’s international language, broken English.
