Painting Description

The Ring of Kerry provides many great views of the precipitous coastline with its brown fingers reaching out into the cobalt sea, but within the Ring are many dramatic scenes as well. Driving these steep roads, trying not to add a chamois to the car hood, or maybe bonnet since Ireland, takes a degree of skill and at times courage as the road plummets with little warning and few directional signs. I can’t imagine how farmers made a living on this stingy soil but the views must have brought solace to their hearts.
