Painting Description

I spied this scene on the edge of Millbank, a quiet farmer’s retirement town fifteen miles from my gallery. The young couple in the sleigh seemed to be having a grand time with no concern for the icy conditions. I felt that this bit of village, with its cars and Victorian houses, added a pleasant counterpoint to this rural subject.
