Iceberg

Painting Description

We spotted the iceberg out in the ocean just off Twillingate, Newfoundland. Drawing in black over a gray-blue background, I fashioned this decorative painting. The touches of colour, red and yellow, serve as a foil against the cool colour of the main body of the painting.

Interesting patterns are created by the ice that once covered the Grand River near the Covered Bridge in West Montrose. I intensified the contrast of pink/red against blue in hopes of creating a colour balance of warm and cool.
