Painting Description

The story told in this piece is obvious. I enjoy the narrative aspect of my paintings. For me it adds another layer to the aesthetic quality of the picture. I realize that, currently, the illustrative idea is not appreciated, in fact, often soundly decried. By now I have spent enough time in the art game to realize that those ideas may well change. I am convulsed with laughter by the idea that Norman Rockwell went from merely illustration in the 1950’s and 1960’s to become “America’s Vermeer”.
