A sunny spring day shows this much changed farmhouse to advantage.

The term home farm refers to the original farm in the family. Sometimes the first set of buildings still stand. More often however many additions and renovations have taken place over the years to accommodate a growing extended family. Grandparents and unmarried sisters or extended family that require some care are provided with an apartment of their own. This farm west of Hawkesville is a classic example of the Mennonite ethos of, “we take care of our own”.
