Painting Description

A quiet walk through nature yields many small treasures, and this stump with its surround is one of them. Apart from the history of this tree and all the thoughts that go with it, I was drawn to this area as a piece of still life. The warm and closely related hues remind me of a sweater by Kaffe Fassett.
