Painting Description

Small villages such as this are located on streams that run through the hilly countryside of North Yorkshire. To a North American eye, these old stone villages look like a set from a period costume movie. In spite of the loss of a portion of the agricultural population, these villages are slowly being reborn as people move from the cities to enjoy the tranquility of the dales.
