Painting Description

The Volvo station wagon had only just stopped on the driveway of the Stratford antique show. The first box of goods unloaded from its back seat contained this church carving. We were entranced by the polychromed sculpture that had clearly been harvested from a church in New England. Carved by an Italian craftsman, this wooden figure has lent its care to us for many years now.
