Painting Description

From time to time I revisit local landmarks. I had driven to Brantford in a looping fashion following no logic at all. On this sunny late autumn day I arrived at the Bell Homestead and decided to explore the neighbourhood. I do not go out looking for subjects as I believe they are all around me if I just open my eyes. This painting is a great example of a view just popping up, demanding to be painted. It is a simple sight but very graphic with the darkly shaded areas created by the shoulder of the hill.
