Gloriette, Vienna

Painting Description

The first time we visited Europe, Vienna was a must-see, not because of the wonderful architecture or all the cultural fixtures, but because we had a young friend who was posted to the Canadian Embassy. We spent several weeks there in total and did visit sights such as the Gloriette at Schoenbrunn Palace, just outside of Vienna, Austria. This painting shows only half of this classical building from 1775 which was built as a war memorial.
