Painting Description

This young woman was one of a number of paid models that a group of artists hired each week. We used the studio in an old factory in Kitchener not far from the train station. These sessions were reminiscent of my time of painting from life when I was at art college. We painted from 7-9 p.m. one evening a week. When I look back I wonder how I could paint during the day and then attend a painting session in the evening. The answer I suppose is easy … I was young.

*This original was part of a large group of paintings donated by the artist to Grand River Hospital in 2012. To see paintings donated: GRHDONATION.
