Painting Description

The focus of this painting is the excitement of the family about the new pony. Although the setting near the covered bridge is picturesque, the landscape is secondary to the human drama. In each painting I focus on an element that tells the story. It is, I hope, very easy to build a scenario in one’s mind that draws the viewer into the family’s excitement.
