General’s House
Painting Description
The “general” was an eccentric bachelor who lived in Bridgeport, now a section of Kitchener. This poorly maintained house was located across Lancaster Street from the Lancaster Hotel. The “general” always wore rubber boots, a great coat and a winter hat. The seasons held no sway for him, dressing this same way all year long.
