Painting Description

Although this is still an agricultural subject, this scene from southern Manitoba is a bit of a change for me. I am fascinated by the European idea of farmers living in town and commuting out to their land rather than living right on the farm. This village approach to farming results in the streets becoming a parking lot for big, out-of-work farm machines. This painting is a direct result from our cross-Canada journey for National Trust in 1989.
