Former Bauman Farm, Benjamin Road
Painting Description
These farm building are pressed against the road within the current boundaries of Waterloo. When I was in high school, I was sweet on the pretty blond girl that lived here. At that point in the early 60”s, this farm was way out in the country but now it is comfortably within the city boundaries of Waterloo. This farm is now owned by a conservative Mennonite family who tends it with much love and care. Brightly painted in a traditional red and green combination, the many small buildings still crowd together around a central courtyard just as they did in the 1830”s when this farm was established. Too bad the house is almost on the road.
