A profusion of floral colours is the main aspect of this image of the market, handled in an impasto way.

Marilyn and I regularly attend the Waterloo (St. Jacobs) Market early on Saturday morning. When the Dutch vendors roll out their full floral displays, I am dazzled by the colour. I used an impasto (thick paint) treatment as a way of intensifying the colour.
