Fishing Shack
Painting Description
This brightly coloured fishing shack extends from farm land into the Gironde River, 30 miles downstream from Bordeaux, France.
The tidal river brings salt water fish to the fishing shacks along the Gironde River when the tide comes in. The tidal bore is quite noticeable as it surges as far as Bordeaux. We were on a riverboat of 100 passengers which untied from the pier when the tidal bore came through. At times the tidal bore is sufficiently large to allow surf boarding.
