Painting Description

We had the opportunity to rent a cottage on this street in 2001. Although cars now plug this pretty village of Blockley, it is still obvious just how this Cotswold village must have looked around 1900. I had an added assist to my imagination from an archival photo of our small row-house as it had been at the turn of the last century. This main street still is a meeting place where neighbours visit while on their messages (shopping). This scene does seem romantic, make-believe, somehow unreal. I enjoy creating my own story with the aid of photos from that time for information and inspiration.
