Fiji Village
Painting Description
We drove from our hotel which was on the coast 50 miles away to Suva, the capital, for a luncheon arranged by friends in Canada with a group of artists from the city and surrounding areas. On our way we passed this two-tier village with the traditional buildings on the higher area and the shacks on the plain. Because torrential rains are common, the houses below are raised off the ground.
