Painting Description

Although dressed in quite a traditional way, this young woman shows a bit of daring in her choice of headscarf. I was attracted to the bright and active design as a foil to the somber grays, browns and blues of the sugarbush. Each painting that I do starts with some element, often very small, that beckons me to build around it.
