Farmhouse, South of Elmira
Painting Description
A Mennonite stone farmhouse has an end wall plastered in a pale yellow which contrasts with the red and green addition to the original building.
It is easy to see the appeal of this gaily painted farmhouse. Some people think it strange that Mennonites who practice somber dress, would have such bright colours on their houses. Perhaps the human spirit must express itself some way or other.
