Fallen Trees
Painting Description
Colourful fall patterns reflect in the water of this small pond in Ayr, Ontario. Only the fallen trees at the water’s edge give punctuation to this view.
Because acrylic paint dries so quickly it is difficult to achieve a blended look. Using a mister I kept the painting wet all the way through to achieve a look closer to oils. It was an interesting experiment but one that might only be used on certain types of subjects. I am not decided.
This original painting was part of a large group of paintings donated by the artist in 2014 to St. Mary’s Hospital.
