Earl’s Palace, Kirkwall, Orkney
Painting Description
I arrived at this small island with a cruise ship as part of a cruise around the British Isles. After twenty minutes of painting I was approached by someone from the palace staff. Move your easel was the message. In all my years I have never encountered a situation where anyone was unhappy that I was sketching their attraction. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I completed the sketch from the sidewalk.
