COMISSION TEXT | Downstream was commissioned by the Grand River Conservation Authority to emphasize the importance of our river systems. Although we are surrounded by much fresh water, the quality of the water has become increasingly important. As a continuation of my Mennonite background and its concern for the land and conservation, I am pleased to be involved in the pleasant task of pointing people\'s attention to our Grand River (Ontario, Canada). Reproductions of this very large painting have been used as gifts and awards by the Conservation Authority to recipients around the world. |
