Doon Pioneer Tower

Painting Description

This is a close view of the historic Pioneer Tower on the Grand River. I have a great affection for this unusual structure, a tribute to the “Pennsylvania Dutch” who settled here around 1805. As children, we were taken to this site by our parents as a treat where we could climb up the long wooden stairs, shaking them to scare each other.
